The Barn At Red Gate Farms Historic Event Venue

The Barn at Red Gate Farms is a 4,000 square foot wedding and special event venue. This traditional, rustic country setting is conveniently located only 5-8 minutes from the downtown Historic District of Savannah, Georgia. We provide full service wedding and event services for any size occasion!

We began when Mr. Harry E. Martin, Jr. bought an undeveloped tract of 440 acres in 1931. Mr. Martin and his wife named the land "Red Gate Farms" in loving memory of Mrs. Martin's cousin, Cyris Steadwell, that had spoken of his dream to own such a farm and naming it Red Gate. Mr. Steadwell gave his life in defense of our great nation during World War I. Mr. Martin converted 300 acres of the undeveloped land into Georgia's First Jersey Cattle Farm.

Red Gate Farms is still owned by the family. Currently Mrs. Patricia Smith, one of the Martin’s daughters and her children and grandchildren live at Red Gate Farms.

The land is no longer used for farming, but has retained it's Coastal Empire country, serenity setting. We are located only eight minutes from downtown Savannah, Georgia, "The Hostess City of the South."  Mr. Martin's rustic Barn was renovated in March of 2014.

We pride ourselves in carrying on the Southern hospitality traditions of our great city as Savannah’s Finest destination for Corporate Events, Special Events and Weddings!!
